Ai wa yasashii kara
boku ni damatte shinda yo
Because love is kind
It died without telling me
Sayonara iwazu ni
sotto mune de shinda yo ...
Without saying good-bye
It quietly died in my heart ...
Osanai hi ni egaita
kibou wa itsumo yami-iro
The hope I painted when I was young
was always the colour of darkness
Hisshi de nuritsubushiteta
I desperately painted it over
Hitori de yurara kuru hi o yurara
All alone, swaying, the passing days spent swaying
Koi o shite wa ikenai
Koi nado yo ni wa nai
I can't fall in love
Love doesn't exist in this world (2)
Hito o shinjitakunai
I don't want to believe people
Kakotachi yurara shizuka ni yurara
All the past, swaying, quietly swaying
Ai wa yasashii kara
boku ni damatte shinda yo
Because love is kind
It died without telling me
Sayonara iwazu ni
sotto mune de shinda yo ...
Without saying good-bye
It quietly died in my heart ...
Dare ni demo
dare ni demo
ikiru wakaki hi no binetsu
Anyone has
Anyone has
The slight fever of living their young days
Itsumademo Aiutau ...
For ever, Aiutau ...
Ienaide
ienaide
kanashimi wa nomihosazu ni
Don't heal
Don't heal
Without swallowing your sadness
Aiutau Aiutau ...
Itsumo ...
Always ...
Shinenaide
shinenaide
Don't die
Don't die
Asahi o mukaete naita koto
The fact that you greeted the morning sun and cried
Dakishimete Aiutau ...
Embrace it, Aiutau ...
Ai wa yasashii kara
boku ni damatteita yo
Because love is kind
It didn't tell me
Sayonara iwazu ni
Without saying good-bye
Sotto mune de
Quietly, in my heart
Ikiteta yo ...
It was alive ...
Notes;
1) The title is a madeup word, so like a lot of Tsuyoshi's I left it as-is. 'Aiutau' would translate as something like A Rain of Love Songs/Poems but the pronunciation sounds like 'Ai utau' - Sing of Love
2) 'ai' and 'koi' both mean love in Japanese, and are common themes in Tsuyoshi's works. The former usually is meant to imply a deeper meaning than the second, which is often taken in terms of romantic 'fall-in-love' type love.
