"Mr. JUSTICE": Report Regarding Richard Blaney
Name: Richard Blaney Age: 21 Occupation: Newspaper Delivery Employee
Current Status:
*Has no alibi for the estimated times of death of both Vivian Promnight and Brenda Valentine.
*Delivered newspapers to the person living next door to Vivian Promnight, Mr. Harry Powell.
*Through the request made by Mr. Powell to temporarily suspend newspaper delivery at his residence for one month, he was aware of Mr. Powell's extended absence.
*The newspapers used by the perpetrator of the Black Maria Incident to compose his statements to the media were delivered by the newspaper with which he was employed.
*Richard's blood type is B, coincident with the semen left behind at the scene of Vivian's murder.
Confiscated Evidence:
From Vivian's Residence
*Seven newspapers with the letters "L", "O", "V", and "E" circled within the articles, and three papers with the letters "H", "A", "T", and "E" circled. All articles bear fingerprints confirmed as Richard's.
From Richard's Residence
*Cosmetics case.
Contained inside, black lipstick confirmed to be of the type used for stage theatre. As a result of careful investigation, it was determined that this lipstick is of the same brand as the lipstick used during Vivian's murder.
*Piano wire
*25 decks of Bicycle playing cards.
Of these, eight are incomplete decks, and four of those eight decks are missing the Queen of Spades.
*A register of names.
Numbers have been filled in by Richard next to some of the names.
The register contains the names of four victims: Vivian, Amanda, Jessie, and Sara (all presumed murdered by the perpetrator of the Black Maria Incident), as well as their confirmed addresses.
The women's names were crossed out with a single black line.
It is presumed that this register is a list of past and future victims.
*20 newspapers.
Among these are papers containing Brenda Valentine's blood alongside Richard's fingerprints, with the letters "H", "A", "T", and "E" circled within the articles.
It is supposed that Richard sent these newspapers with the word "HATE" to Brenda as a warning. After Brenda's murder, he carried away the potential evidence, and took it into his own residence for safekeeping.
As a result of the unexpected search of the premises, it is my judgment that he simply had no time to dispose of them.
Richard's Confession
I did it, all of it.
I had loved Vivian. But, I couldn't forgive her for the cold way she treated me, how she looked at me with eyes of nothing but disdain. As soon as I thought that I wanted to punish her for this someday, I had heard that Harry was going away on business, and seized the chance to commit the crime.
Despite the fact that I had sent newspapers with the letters "H", "A", "T", and "E" circled as a warning to Brenda, she still said far too much, and in a rage I killed her, too.
As for the other women, they all treated me as if I was a fool, so I punished them all.
